Bureau of Obligate and Accompanier for Rural Development (BOARD) was established in 1995 by a group of dedicated social activists and professionals with a shared mission to enhance the quality of life and dignity of marginalized communities, particularly women and Dalits. BOARD is committed to fostering leadership development within these communities. It is registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 and under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976. BOARD is governed by a five-member executive committee, comprising 03 female and 02 male. Its registered office is located in Shahjahanpur, District- Patna, Bihar (India), while field offices in Fatuha town of Patna district and Karai Parsurai of Nalanda district.
Since its inception, BOARD is dedicated to providing human service in Patna and Nalanda districts of Bihar. As a non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization, the pro-poor policies and the commitment to the welfare of scheduled castes (SCS), Scheduled Tribes (STS), minorities and other deprived groups, it is reflected. BOARD is mainly working in the state's most remote villages and semi-urban areas, especially in the areas of community development, governance, socio-economic empowerment, education, livelihood skills training, health and hygiene etc.
We want to build a fair, self-reliant society, where everyone is treated equally and can support each other. Our focus is on empowering women, improving education for children, creating jobs, promoting better health and addressing climate change. We especially prioritize weaker sections - such as women, children, young and disabled people - who need resources and support.
BOARD is dedicated to transforming rural and semi-urban communities by addressing critical challenges in education, health, sanitation, and economic empowerment. Through targeted initiatives, we work to improve the overall quality of life in these communities.
We have maintained certain “fundamental principles” that determine our commitment to our target group.
